SESSION'S WITH THE SAFE AND SOUND PROTOCOL

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an evidence-based listening therapy designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors through filtered music. As a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, the SSP acts as a non-invasive, acoustic vagal nerve stimulator, helping to re-tune the nervous system to better support connection, collaboration and resilience. The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones alongside a provider, in-person or remotely. Suitable for children and adults, the SSP has demonstrated benefits for individuals with trauma, anxiety, sensory processing differences and more.

All services are available virtually. In-person services are available for individuals (on a case-by-case basis) and for groups.

Kerry Trudel is a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Her work includes nearly 14 years of working with Victims of crime and tragic circumstances, with a emphasis in Human Trafficking, 1 year in Behavior therapy working with children, and education. She has continually upgraded her knowledge and has experience in Autism intervention, addiction, trauma informed care and atypical caregiver behaviors. She is committed to continuing education. She is available for consultation and speaking on Child Abuse, Sexual Violence, Human Trafficking, Intimate Partner Violence, Greif and Survival. She is a published author, A mother of 2 with exceptional needs and a fierce advocate for lgbtq2+ rights. She is currently discovering her culture and heritage as a Metis women, and works with profound respect for the Creator, our Indigenous communities and the people. In her spare time she enjoys reading, fishing and camp fires. She is a strong advocate for social justice and uses her voice to help others discover theirs.
